Frank was leaning towards the darker side of DNB from what he told me. So I've started a play list (which I'll continue to add to) of some of the harder hitting stuff from the past few years. There's some recent material in there, as well as some older pieces and a few classics. This is by no means a definitive selection, just some tunes that I'm hoping he'd like.
As said, I'll continue to add some more songs to it over time. It's quite funny how when pressed to think of certain songs your mind goes blank! And YouTube recommendations only lead so far!
The problem was he wanted a few more albums as well. With DNB culture traditionally revolving around 12" singles or 2 x 12" EP's (albums seem to have only recently been truly embraced) I was initially struggling for inspiration. So what I've said is, he are some artists you might like, and if you do - explore their back catalog further. Also, knowing which labels release which type of music helps a lot as you can then delve into their archives and stumble across a whole new heap of talent.
Self exploration is extremely rewarding!
Anyway, enjoy it for now and check back in the future where I'll hopefully have updated it quite significantly...
I highly recommend you check out these albums as well:
