An amazing album, where a guitarist controls a number of mechanical instruments from his guitar and a number of pedals on the floor. No overdubs, no software in sight, the whole piece played live.
It's kind of like an alternative future where technology has kept moving but personal computers have not been invented.
Personally, I'd be happy to play only one string of a guitar as well as Metheny does, and I guess that I will stick to my Logics and Abletons for another while, but it's a majestic effort (if slightly megalomaniac, and I will throw in 'mental' for good measure).
