This ridiculously heavy pile of bricks has now become a studio.....Stage one is nearly complete. We have the outer shell of the studio in place, and as I type, the doors will be finished.
Obviously the ceiling would be a little trickier to build with concrete, so it's made up of several layers of plasterboard, rock wool and chipboard.
We're still waiting for the studio/live room window glass, but this gave us the chance to have a closer look at the separating wall:
As well as the concrete block, there is an air gap and a layer of rock wool, followed by plasterboard, which is decoupled with vibration absorbing resiliant bars. We'll be putting three layers of glass, so separation should be more than adequate.So, only the internal acoustic treatment, wiring, painting, electrics and lighting to go. Not to mention the second studio build......
