Firefox 3.5 is out

And although this has nothing to do with music you should download it because it will allow me to design a better blog and a better website for LSS. This new version is faster at rendering javascript and other stuff too, which they say will make your life better, and to celebrate it they have posted all sorts of videos of people doing things very fast. The world's fastest Banjo player is even worse than it sounds, and I implore you to avoid it (I bet you have already clicked eh?), but the 11 years old stacking cups is almost impressive, and when you are eleven you have think of something to do with those idle hands anyway.
If you wonder what's the big deal with Firefox, and what's wrong with using Internet Explorer or any other browser... in a nutshell the big deal with Firefox is that it respects the standards: which means that web developers can develop web pages that look cool and do cool stuff, and these pages work as expected. When you try to see the same page on Internet Explorer however a lot of stuff doesn't work or works only partially. You would assume Microsoft would see that an fix it. You'd be wrong. What about Safari, Opera and Chrome and Camino and others? They vary, some are better at certain things than others, but so far Firefox is the one which behaves best and most consistently. Right now every time I could do something really nice on the websites I design I have to give it up because Internet Explorer doesn't support it. Wouldn't it be great if it didn't matter, if no one used Explorer anyway? If you want to help spreading Firefox join the campaign at http://www.spreadfirefox.com/.
